PRIDE AND PREJUDICE* (*sort of)

Description

The Olivier Award-winning comedy sensation PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (sort of) is coming to Melbourne for its Australian premiere at Athenaeum Theatre One, running 18 June – 11 July 2026.

This bold reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic flips the story into a fast-paced, high-energy musical comedy that’s already been a hit in London’s West End, taking out the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy.

Written by Isobel McArthur after Jane Austen, the show is performed by five actors who play every character, bringing sharp humour, quick costume changes, and plenty of chaos to the stage.

Expect a mix of wit, romance, and modern pop anthems including “Young Hearts Run Free”, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and “You’re So Vain”, all woven into a fresh take on love, class, and expectations.

A fun, accessible theatre pick for older teens who enjoy comedy, music, and classic stories with a modern twist.
