Description
SIGNAL is a creative studio for young people aged 14 to 25, providing a space for exploration, creation, and presentation. It runs programs on weekends during school terms and throughout the week during school holidays, offering the chance to explore a wide range of art forms. Participants can get hands-on with industry materials and learn from professional artists through multi-artform workshops and mentoring.
Throughout the year, SIGNAL offers two development programs to support young artists, providing mentorship and guidance from SIGNAL staff:
• Screen and Sound Commissions (for 16 to 25-year-olds): allows young artists to create screen and sound works to be featured at SIGNAL.
• Young Creatives Lab (for 18 to 25-year-olds): offers funding and mentorship for developing projects.
SIGNAL also has the SIGNAL Curators Collective, a group of young art enthusiasts (16 to 25 years old) who meet monthly to plan exhibitions, workshops, and projects, contributing ideas to the SIGNAL studio program.
Keep a look out for SIGNAL Summer, an intensive two-week creative arts program. The 2026 program details will be announced in December 2025.
